Team for Norwich
This game should be a straightforward win but Moyes won't be taking anything for granted and will surely select what he considers to be his strongest available team.

This probably means no change from the eleven that started against Leeds. Apparently Coufal is self-isolating for Covid but I don't know when that ends. If available, he will presumably replace Fredericks. Some might like to see the return of Fornals but Lanzini and Vlasic deserve to keep their places, so Pablo will have to wait for another opportunity.

Fabianski
Fredericks Dawson Diop Johnson
Soucek Rice
Bowen Lanzini Vlasic
Antonio

Re: Team for Norwich
Strongest team available tomorrow and Sunday.

We must pick up 6 points nothing less if we have ambition

After Sun we have a week, 1 more game away at United then 2 weeks until FA cup.

If Cresswell is fit he plays, if Coufal is out of isolation he plays.

It’s simple these games at home are must wins.

I hope both teams come and try get 3 points because it will leave gaps. When away teams sit I’m hoping for a point that’s when we get frustrated.

I’m one of the most pessimistic fans but I think we’ll get the job done tomorrow and Sunday. Vlasic, Lanzini, Bowen, Antonio all seem to be hitting a bit of form and that’s too much for these sides.

I back all 4 of them players mentioned to score over the next 2 games.

Players prefer to play games instead of training.

Aaron Cresswell could be ready to make his return to the squad for the game against Norwich City at the London Stadium on Wednesday evening.

According to C&H

I can see your point Rice didn't play that well against Leeds. Not his dominating self and we did win against Watford he needs to stop wanting to do everything, especially free kicks. We need his presence in the area for one.
Seeing as the U23's played last night, they all needed a game after a month out there won't be any changes changes apart from one if that.

Honestly have this horrible feeling that we’re gonna get turned over. Like a 0-1 loss where we have about 30 shots but just can’t score.

So no chance that we rest anyone.

Re: Team for Norwich
Fair enough, but I'll be amazed if Moyes rests anyone and it definitely won't be Rice IMHO

Re: Team for Norwich
Yeah, I know, fraser, but my post was already long enough without explaining myself further.

For a start, if we're not going to rest players against the bottom club, who've lost their last five league games, then who are we going to rest them against? Resting one player is not going to make that much difference, anyway. Our starting lineup will be far, far better than theirs even without our best player, and we've played weakened teams in Europe and the cup and come out with wins that surprised me.

I'm more warning against thinking that this will be a walkover. Based on our results thus far against basement dwellers, it won't be.

People shouldn't underestimate Norwich, quickly followed by suggesting we rest our best player ..

The trouble for Norwich is , a point isn't really enough anymore.

Re: Team for Norwich
People shouldn’t underestimate Norwich. This season we’ve played poorly against struggling teams, especially relegation threatened ones desperate for a point.

I’d probably give Areola a start. I think that Moyes is going to start playing Fab in the more prestigious Euro and cup games coming up, and he’ll compensate Areola with more Premier League games.

I’d be tempted to rest Rice and play either Noble or Kral deep to allow Soucek to get forward. I’d pick Kral, but then I wouldn’t know who to give the captaincy to. Lanzini? Antonio?

"This game should be a straightforward win"

Famous last words - Norwich are bottom but only 4 points from safety and a win to leapfrog Newcastle and Burnley. I really hope we dont 'take a day off' for this one. Strongest possible side

Re: Team for Norwich
I though Fredericks did really well. He missed one shot the likes of which Bowen and Antonio regularly miss and his excellent cross/shot later on was let down by Rice and all the forwards hanging back combing their hair and posing for the goal-scoring photograph rather than doing the hard graft and getting in the goal area for the rebound/tap-in.

OK, maybe he was a bit greedy, but so what?

What the hell are you on about.
Fredericks had a shot just after the first goal, actually good work in getting in the space and area but his shot was awful, straight at the keeper. His 2nd later on in the 2nd half he did well in taking the ball form a poor clearance. This was a shot. but he dithered with his play, there was no one near because the ball was on it's way out not near to the six yard box where someone could be coming in like you said.
Watch the highlights again and take note.
